9/10/2016 Db's Dailies: Kea@Rabbit Island, Pohaku@Nanakuli, Rocky&Kaiwi@Outrigger Canoe Club, Luana@Mokuleia,Benny@Paradise Cove, Ka'ena@Ka'ena Point, Lei Ola@Turtle Bay, Holokai@Kulilima Cove, TB, Nani@Moku Nui,

At 0606 Team Billand found Pohaku (RO28) at Zablan Beach, Nanakuli. She would depart at 1104.

Marilyn&Lesley did the End of the World trek today. At 0755 Marilyn reported Luana (RN58) at the birth beach, Mokuleia.

One of the Billand’s posse advised that Benny was at Paradise Cove, but they never actually got there.

Gina came through with shots of Kaiwi(RK96)&Rocky(RH58) at Outrigger. Rocky appears to be 100% molted, while this is D#1 of Kaiwi’s molt , 2% molted. It has been 47 days since Kaiwi weaned.

At 0957 Marilyn advised that Ka’ena (RO40) was at BG’s Pool, Ka’ena Point.

Diane Gabriel had a fun packed day at Turtle Bay, with Lei Ola (RH48) at the Keiki Poo, and Holokai (RG40) at Kuilima Cove.

Marilyn returned from her evening shift at AD not having found Kawena. That seemed to have been the case all day. Only Kawena knows.

Why does Pohaku have a zone with caution tape and unofficial signs?

Hi sweet Melina Clark. We all know who made the signs, YEARS AGO, but since HMMA the signs I made have become ILLEGAL TO USE. AND I hope you confiscated them all. GET RID OF THOSE NASTY SIGNS...appreciate that. It was something I thought would help the public along in learning about seals that came a shore. I never meant any harm in making those signs.

As for the silly yellow tape, we were SHOCKED TO FIND THAT ZONE. We dont know who set the tape and signs up, but we did remove them immediately as there was an entanglement issue. I was frightened if Pohaku would go through it. I think she did .

We put the signs back out...minus all the yellow tape. A man named Charles suggested, put the ropes, the kids going right in. He knows us for years from watching seals at Paradise Cove. He also meant well.

God bless, hope you understand after all these years what we tried to do FOR THE SEALS. They mean the world to us and always will. No harm was meant in making those silly signs for years. AMEN.
