HMMA Update from September 10th

At 0602 Steve checked in with a report of Rocky (RH58) at Kaimana Beach. He stated that Rocky had overnighted. At 0609 a report came in about a seal at Zablan. Barbara ID'ed Pohaku (RO28). At 0752 a report came in about a seal at Paradise Cove. Warren responded and ID'ed Benny (RE74). Gina checked in at 0757 with a report of Kaiwi (RK96) at the Outrigger Canoe Club. Gina noted Kaiwi appears to have started her molt. Marilyn checked in at 0803 with a report of Luana (RN58) at Mokuleia but no sign of Ka'ale (RH32). At 0936 Diane checked in with a report of Lei Ola (RH48) at the Keiki pool. At 1237 Marilyn checked in from Kaena Point with a report of Kaena departing from BG's pool area. Melina checked in at 1302 reporting Pohaku now at Depots Beach. Pohaku departed at 1500. At 1709 Carola checked in with a report of RK36 near Luana (RN58) at Mokuleia. At 1815 Sara checked in to report Rocky (RH58) was now at the Outrigger Canoe Club.

 Terri checked in via email with some photos of RW02 at Makaha Beach. Melina checked in via email with a report of Pohaku (RO28) hauled out at Depots beach Nanakuli at 1255. Pohaku slept off and on for two hours and left at 1500 on her own, no disruptions. She swam in the Ewa direction. 

Diane checked in via email from Turtle Bay. At 0915, she found Lei Ola (RH48) hauled out at east Keiki Pool. She was still there when Diane left her at 1400.

Diane spoke with a Segway operator reported that Lei Ola had been swimming a lot yesterday. Diane went to check Kuilima Cove on her way out and happened to spot Holokai (RG40) hauling out at 1420. The hotel folks helped move them back. Diane stayed a while and did some outreach.

 Carola checked in via email from Mokuleia. Carola was hoping to find Ka’ale this afternoon, but instead she found RK36 and Luana (RN58) on the birth beach at Mokuleia. Not long after they were both in the water together, RK36 following Luana around, both eventually took off together heading east.
