9/25/2016 DB's Dailies: J/M@Rabbit Island, Kolohe@Lanai Lookout, Pohaku@Paradise Cove, Kaiwi@Outrigger, Lei Ola@Turtle Bay, Kekoa@Maili Point, RW02,Kerby&Ka'ale@30Min Mark , West side KP Trail,

Century Bike Ride ! It’s always fun trying to get around in the E & SE quadrants on this day.

Though I was at Makai Pier at 0720, it would be 1004 before somebody hauled out on Rabbit Island. The sole resident today was the Unknown , J/M that has been around a while now. Still no ID.

Marilyn did a full AD check from the wall the Pele’s Chair this morning but alas found nobody. Melanie did an afternoon check of AD from the wall to the estuary. Again, nobody home.

Melanie did her usual Sunday, SE quadrant checks and found Kolohe (RW22) at his usual Lanai Lookout spot.

A Team Billand text at 0450 brought word of an animal at Paradise Cove. At 0516 they confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID.

At 1015 the Billands advised that Kekoa (RK72) was at Maili Pt. By the time Barbara got out of the car, he had moved into the water just off shore, and began to forage.

On first pass at 1248 Barbara reported RW02 at the 30Min mark on the west side KP trail.

At 1411 a Barbara text from the End of the World advised that an animal swam into the Main Pool, at Ka’ena Point, but a couple began throwing rocks at it and the animal departed.

The absolute highlight of the day came at 1618 when Barbara called to advise that RW02 was gone and that Kerby (RW08) was at the 30Min mark, in the company of another , smaller animal. It would prove to be Ka’ale.... Yes, Ka’ale (RH32) Nihoa’s weaner son from the Mokuleia side. ID was by his RH33 tag. It is moments like this that give you faith that the other weaners, Kala & Kawena might be right behind the next rock.
