7-7-2013 DB's Dailies:Irma&Pup@AD's(D#3), Kainoa@RI, Kaiwi@BF, Buster&Weaner@RR, 2UU@Mokes

At 0608 we arrived at AD’s to find Irma & Pup doing a feed. They were still at mid SPZ, and the fencing was all in tact. At 0736 they did another feed, and afterward moved down the nearby tide pool. Initially the pup moved to finger of water closer to the east end of the SPZ, and I thought the newly established fence line, yesterday, would have to be moved, but Irma lead the way the same tide pool they have used the past two days, They did basically a 1 hr tide pool session from 0858 until 0956. Irma lead the way back to the beach, just above the water line where they did another feed just as our shift ended at 1000. Kimo reported that a daily photographer visitor was inside the SPZ when he arrived at 0545. When I arrived I spoke with the guy. We'll see what will happen.

　

At 0614 Kimo advised that Kaiwi (RK96) was once again at Buster Flats.

　

When I finally got to Makai Pier for a Rabbit Island check at 1015 I initially found nobody , however at 1241 Kainoa (RN04) hauled out from Seal Rock Inlet.

　

Cianna called at 1136 to advise that she had gotten a report from a 0700 kayaker reporting 2 U/U animals on the Mokes. I’ve received no further word. The KSK guys don't rent kayaks on sundays... but I will ask around to see if they heard anything.

 

Cianna called again at 1227 to advise that Eileen had reported Buster (RV08) and the new weaner at the Reef Runway.

*rant on* this makes me so made when a professional photographer who has expensive equipment feels they are entitled to bypass the rules and go for the money shot... sometimes I wonder if they're trying to provoke the animal. They have the tools to get a good photo there is no need of this sneaky behavior*** rant off*
