10/16/2010 DB Dailies

A Happy Seal Count Day to all !!! Duke was the one and only Rabbit Island resident, and in fact was the only Zone #12 find for the day. I initially found him up in the grass behind SRI, but he later entered the water and hauled out again at 1131 to the left end of Middle Cliff. He would enter the water again and relocate to 80 ft right of 3BS at 1320.

Team Billand reported Ewa Girl at White Plains, near #1943, at 0934.

Their initial find of the day however was a small, red tagged animal that they all too briefly encountered at Maili, at 0720. When the shots came in it proved to by Kerby !

At 1251 they found a foraging U/U animal off shore of the jetty at Campbell Industrial Park. Barbara thought it might be the same Maili animal, by size, and after looking at her photos I would agree, but ??????????

Posse member Karen Harris is home for a quick visit, and awesome KP Trekker that she is, got off the plane and went straight to KP yesterday. She found a newly molted Ka'ena, along with CeeCee on the Waianae side trail, about 1/3rd of the way in, and at the point found T15M and Kiko. I have all the respect in the world for the present day KP trekkers, but Karen Harris is the legend whose shoes you are trying to fill. I personally vote for taking down the light at KP and replacing it with a statue of Karen Harris with a lightbulb on her head.

I am unaware of any numbers on today's Seal Count at this writing. Maybe Donna will have something for the blog in the morning. Check and see.

 Unidentified - but probably Kerby
 Ewa Girl
