10/25/2010 DB Dailies

Sam had Rabbit Island all to himself on this gray and dismal day. I found him at 0651 at the cliff, left of 1BS. He never moved down, and for that matter, barely moved.
Team Billand called at 0613 with the report of Irma at WP. She may well have overnighted since she was lying near the signs. She would depart between 1230 and 1300.

The Billands called again at 0920 with the report of Benny at Guard Rail Beach, Maili Pt. Eric got an N26 bleach on his left side.

Eric also redid M&M's N23 bleach at Ka'ena Point today. She also got a left side, mid body bleach.
Team Billand got a call about an animal at White Plains at 1528. When they arrived they found Irma...again, same spot as her morning visit.

Karen Turner found Ua Malie at Fishermen's Point, Turtle Bay, and what she thought might be Lona on the Kahuku side of the point. Unfortunately, photo evidence does not provide enough info to make that ID.

Benny - Great shot with the bird.
Irma cracks me up, she still curious like the young'ens and she does have a thing for signs. Jury out on whether she likes them or not.
 Sam and the yellow arrow
 So peaceful Ua Malie
Unidentified.... looks more like someone was hiding, great shot.

We witnessed Irma in a pissed off mode with the sign in the am. She tossed it about, rolled on it, shoveled the sign around. SHe tossed her head up backwards and mouth was wide opened. Never seen Irma act that way. Did someone approach her? Was a stray dog at her site? Was the feral cats at white plains there? Dont know, but, we were watching her from a far, letting her go through her thing, then we carefully put out the signs and ropes.
As for the bird with Benny...I was trying to take his facial shot, ready to snap, this bird landed right at his face for some reason...it was so cool. Bird is out of focus..but I was shocked to see the bird in my viewer. How cool was that! And Benny was comotosed for Eric's Bleach...awesome, as Benny is rarely comotosed for long at any time. He is here on Oahu, back to Molokai, at Sandys, Maili Pt, White Plains etc. He is the ADD of all seals, never keeps still. But he is brilliant, aggressive, smart, and so fun to observe. Well, Eric got him bleached..COOL. A rare Benny knocked out on the rocks, he looked so peaceful, comfortable. I bet he is on his way to Kaena Pt today, to bug M and M. He. HE. PSST..Irma, Benny is far away, you can chill now and relax. Be sealing ya at White Plains this am.
