3/16/2016 DB's Dailies: Kainoa&RG32@Rabbit Island, Kaiwi@China Walls, Pohaku@Paradise Cove, Kekoa,RIP&Kimo Kai@Maili Pt, , Right Spot@Chun's Reef, RI37@Haleiwa, RL42@Makua Cliffs, RK36@Maili Guard Rails,

Crankin’ North winds, and overcast conditions made Rabbit Island observations a challenge. At 0832 I found what would prove to be RG32, 80 ft right of 3BS, up near the vegetation line.

At 0854 what turned out to be Kainoa (RN04) hauled out 80 ft right of 3BS, but remained low on the beach. RG32 would later move down to join him.

At 1049 Gayle Matsuda called with the report of a chunky Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls.

At 0543 a Team Billand text reported security calling from Paradise Cove about an animal. At 0615 they confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID. She would depart at 1522.

At 0830 they called with the report of Kekoa (RK72) & RIP (RR70) together at Maili Point. They would be joined at 1437 by Kimo Kai(RT12) according to the Billands.

Ocean Safety called at 0923 advising of an animal at Chun’s Reef. Suzanne Smith would respond, and sent photos at 1145 confirming the Right Spot (R016). Carola also checked her out later in the day.

Also at 0923 a Dana text advised of animal at the Haleiwa Surf Condos. Suzanne also responded to that call, and confirmed the RI37 ID. Lesley checked her in the afternoon.

At 1035 the Billands reported RL42 at Makua Cliffs. She was vaccinated by the NOAA crew at 1248.

The Billands found RK36 at Maili Guard Rails at 1506.
