At 0708 I found what would turn out to be Kea (RN46) and RM38 together, just moving down to Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island. RM38 would depart at 0903, but Kea remained all day.Team Billand called at 0700 reporting two swimming heads , foraging off shore of Maili Point. At 0731 they got the Kolohe (RW22)&Kekoa(RK72) ID, and at 0823 both hauled out the their usual spot at Maili Point.
They found nobody on their Reef Runway check, but did see a foraging animal off shore of the runway that they could not ID.
At 1204 Diane Terai checked in with the report of Right Spot (R016) on the rocks mid way between the hotel and Right Spot’s Spot, Turtle Bay. She would move to the beach at 1216.
A Diane T text at 1210 advised that R5AY was at the Elbow, TB, and was occasionally vocalizing. Carola Johnston was there again today. Her descriptions of R5AY’s vocalizations, an calling for her pup, where heartbreaking.
A Dana text at 1544 reiterated what Diane T had reported, and also advised that Holokai (RG40) had just hauled out about 40 ft away from R5AY at the Elbow. Mahalos to Carola, Suzanne&Diane T. !!
Another Dana text at 1606 advised that BG (R303) had just hauled out to the Elbows.
