8-3-2013 DB's Dailies:Irma&Kea@AD, Haupu@Rest Camp, Ka'ena&RW02@KP, RL42@Makua Cliffs, Pohaku&Kolohe@Maili Pt, Rocky&RIP@Kahala

At 0600 we arrived to find Irma&Kea (R010)(D#30) at the Naupaka , at last night’s ending location. Marilyn had cordoned off the closest approaches to them last night with signs, cones & rope. The main approach was in tact, however the other two had been thrown aside with one of the cones thrown into the Naupaka, 3 ft away from Mom&Pup, and one sign stolen. Posse member Robert had found the pole in the parking area, with no sign attached. At 0713 Irma & Kea began moving down, entering the water at 0723. Their swim session would range from the east rock flats to the west rock flats, within the SPZ. They would do a partial haul out to the west rock flats fro 0853 until 0921 for partial water feed. They were swept into the water by the rising tide, and continued their swim heading back to the east end tide pool, which is where they were when I was relieved by Karen Rohter at 1000. Karen reported that they swam outside the perimeter to the west, but returned to the SPZ to haul out. The log shows 3 additional swims and 3 more feeds. They were moving up to the Naupaka at end of day.

At 0930 Team Billand reported Haupu (RB24) at Army Rest Camp, Waianae.

Marilyn, Lesley & Ken did the Ka’ena Point trek as usual on a Saturday. Marilyn called a 1025 with the report of Ka’ena (R040) at the runway, KP. On their way out they reported RW02 below the Waianae side KP trail , at 1151. He appears to have shark teeth scars visible in Lesley’s shots on the right side, mid body.

Team Billand reported RL42 at Makua Cliffs a 1121.

At 1210 the Billands reported Pohaku (RO28) & Kolohe (RW22) together at Maili Point.

At 1412 Team Billand found Ewa Girl (RS00) at Campbell Industrial Park.

Cianna called at 1813 with a report of 2 animals in Kahala. They were said to be harassed by people poking them with sticks. One may have departed but one remained. Karen Rohter is responding. No further word.

In the Yesterday’s News department, Colleen sent shots of Rocky (RH58)&RIP (RR70) at Kahala yesterday.
