5-18-2013 DB's Dailies: Kainoa,RM38,Nani&U/F@RI, RK36@SC, Kolohe@Maili Pt, Right Spot@Sunset, M&M,Buster&Kermit@WP, RB24@NIM, R018,Kerby,R912&Ka'ena@KP

At 0637 I found what would prove to be Nani (RK60) in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS, on Rabbit Island. She would later enter the water to haul out a bit later.

At 0820 I found RM38 and what would remain an U/F , together on the water front rocks, 50 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet. The M38 ID was easy, based on his posterior, dorsal abscess, and left side natural bleach. The U/F was so busy keeping just out of reach of M38 that I never got a good look at her. It was definitely a female ,with 2 red tags. I was thinking Sadie, but I never got to see what I needed to see to make that call. Maybe tomorrow. Nani would haul out near them , but stayed out of the way. All 3 entered the water at 1038, and I never saw them again.
At 0844 Kainoa hauled out to the far left end of RI.

At 1202 Gayle called with the report of an animal at Spitting Cave, doing 10-11 minute dives. Because of the "victory at sea" conditions, the RK36 ID would not come until 1559 when her shots could be analyzed.

Team Billand called at 0705 with the report of Kolohe (RW22) at Maili Pt.

At 0744 they found M&M (R020) fronting #1775, White Plains.

Dera called at 0930 to advise that her recon of the Reef Runway, confirmed the Ewa Girl (RS00) and pup ID. There was also an U/U swimming just off shore, but there was not enough info in the shots to make a confirmed ID.

Also at 0930 Dera advised that Right Spot (R016) had been reported at Sunset Beach. I've heard no further word.

At 0933 the Billands reported that Buster (RV08) had arrived just off shore of M&M's location at WP. She would enter the water and both would remain off shore of the area, until Buster took off, and M&M hauled out again to #1775, WP.

At 1833 the Billands advised that Buster had stopped by Kermit's location, they had words, and then both entered the water.

Marilyn checked in from the end of the world at 1101 to advise that today's Ka'ena Point finds were R018, Kerby (RW08), R912 and Ka'ena (RO40).

Team Billand called at 1328 to advise of Kermit's (R012) arrival at the showers, amongst the greasy masses at White Plains.

At 1535 they found Haupu (RB24) fronting the #1811 pavilion at Nimitz Cottages.

The Billands are running late. Check the blog in the morning for their day.
