At 0917 on a pan I found a small animal just moving up. It would prove to be the small green female that has been a frequent visitor of late. It took several seconds before I realized that there had been a haul out ahead of her. I spied another animal up in the grass toward which the J/F was heading. It would prove to be Kea (RN46). They would later move down, and remained together all day.
At 0926 , again on a pan I found a newly arrived small animal fronting 1BS. It would prove to be RG32. He would move up and into the Morning Glory.
At 1003 Buster (RV08) hauled out fronting 1BS. RG32 would eventually move down to join him, and both remained together the rest of the day.
At 1038 Team Billand would report two foraging seals off shore of Germaine’s Luau Grounds, Campbell Industrial Park. At 1145 one of them came ashore briefly, and proved to be Pohaku (RO28). She remained only until 1152 and returned to the water and continued foraging duty. No second seal was seen after that.
At 1335 the Billands found RIP(RR70)&Kekoa(RK72) at Maili Point.
Diane Gabriel checked in at 1300 to advise that RK36 had just hauled out to Right Spot’s Spot, Turtle Bay.
She also passed on that she had stopped on Kokoilio Beach, Laie on the way up to check an animal reported by Don. It appeared to be R5AY, but she advised that she was not completely sure of the ID. She will check again on her way back home.
At 1508 Diane reported the arrival of Holokai (RG40) to the Keiki Pool.
A Diane text at 1628 advised that Bob Twogood had reported that a seal arrived at Moku Nui, at 1320 just as his people were departing. There were no photos.
Colleen sent the photo last night, and today Diane Gabriel gave me the lowdown on the shot of 3 Patrick Ching wannabes, Diane, Dana & Colleen. It was apparently and Dana Birthday get together at a Wine&Canvas paint party at Lanikohonua, where the subject was Monk Seals. Happy Birthday Dana !
