April 4, 2019 (part 2) Lesley's Ka'ena Update

Another gorgeous day in Hawaii Nei.
I first did my morning check of Camp Erdman to Birth Beach. I found an overnighted R353 (F) with her new CC bite, she seems fine and may be hanging around till it heals more. I think it's her 4th one in these waters. This one is on top of a previous one so the scar may be a little big bigger later for IDing her.
There was a second trail beside her - perhaps "Holokai" did spend the night there (he was there on my last check at sunset yesterday)

At the point I met with Team T & D. There were 2 seals on Back Beach, the 2 brothers RO40 "Ka'ena" and RR70 "RIP". As we arrived RR70 "RIP" was near the waterline and made his way into the water. We had time to get some visitors out of the outer pool of the Main Pool just before he showed up. He did a swim around and hauled out on the outer reefs of the Main Pool and settled down.
RO40 "Ka'ena" barely moved while we were there.

A big pod of Spinner Dolphins put on a show for us. The sad part was that they made it to the point because a boat was following them, it was reported.

On our way back we checked on R353 (F), she was still there resting peacefully.   More tomorrow 🌺

Great Catch!
