11-17-2012 DB's Dailies: Kaiwi&Aukai@RI, Irma@HB, Kermit@WP, R5AY&KC@Sunset Bch, RIP,Noa,RL42&R912@KP

At 0657 I found Kaiwi (RK96) snoozin', high on the beach at Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island.

At 0956 Aukai (RL54) hauled out to the right side of Seal Rock Inlet. She would move up to the vegetation line, and both she and Kaiwi would remain the rest of the day.

At 1030 both Ann & Jack called from Hanauma Bay reporting a new arrival. When I arrived at 1106 I found Irma (R010) snoozin' on the beach. We got her cordoned off and she has remained the rest of the day. Thanks guys! Ya' Done Good !!!

Team Billand called at 0812 with the report of Kermit (R012) at White Plains.

I got word at 0830 that R5AY had been found at Sunset Beach, and that the NOAA crew was amassing. She was caged and transported to the Aquarium , mid morning for hook removal,Xrays, and further assessment. Xrays were negative for more hooks, and the existing hook was removed. Further care is required.

At 0927 Lesley reported KC (RK28) at Sunset Beach.

Marilyn, Ken & Martika did the Ka'ena Point trek today. At the point they found a 90% molted Ka'ena (RO40) at the Naupaka , high on the hillside, and RL42 on the rubble beach. RIP (RR70) and Noa (R6FI) were on the back beach. RIP is beginning his molt (1%). Martika's mom reported an animal 10 minutes in from the Mokuleia parking lot. On the way out they confirmed the R912 ID.
