The day took an interesting turn with a 1018 call from intern, Tatiana (Hotline) reporting "a seal, bleeding from the back, at AD's". AD's is a coupla' miles of trudging (I found out later its only 1.2 miles). I enlisted the aid of my trusted sidekick Marilyn who started from the Makapuu end, while I began at the AD's Wall (Sandy Beach) end. At 1102 Marilyn called to advise that she had Kaiwi (RK96) at Pele's Chair. Since I was half way there on my trudge I continued on, and joined Marilyn & Kaiwi. Kaiwi was perfectly fat, happy, green and well. My guess is that the caller saw red at the hind flippers and thought it was blood, but ???? She was up on gnarly rocks where I've seen critters before, but ya' gotta' wonder what makes an animal choose that location. As our trek ended I happened to check an interesting sign and for the first time EVER saw a picture of the Alan Davis house in the 1930s , before being wiped out in the 1946 Tidal Wave, at AD's. Teri reported Kaiwi's departure at 1745.
At 0755 Team Billand checked in with the report of Kermit (R012) near the fence line at White Plains.
Dana called at 0859 with the report of RI37 and an U/U at Rocky Point, on the North Shore . Awaiting further word.
At 0927 Team Billand found M&M (R020) fronting #1944 at White Plains.
Zeeny & Kimo did the Ka'ena Point trek today, and reported Ka'ena (RO40), Kerby (RW08), R912 & RL42 at the end of the world.
Team Billand checked in again at 1356 with the report of Noa (R6FI), and Benny (RE74) at Maili Point.
Diane "Diga" Gabriel called at 1409 to report that the Gabbys had trekked the Turtle Bay area, and found sisters La'akea (RK82) and RL54 together at "the elbow", Turtle Bay.
Dana called at 1537 with the report of Rocky (RH58) at the Elk's Club, Waikiki.

Seal with no name.... " I been to the bay to see a seal with no name - It felt good to be out of the rain. At the bay you can remember your name, cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
