8/6/2010 DB Dailies

At 0636 I found Kolohe at 3BS, on Rabbit Island. This is D#1 of his molt (5%). He would remain at the right end of the island all day, and would spend time (like it or not) with Buster and Benny.

When I got back to Makai Pier for the day, at 0858, I found that Sam had joined the cast at the far left end. He would remain there all day, and once again, like it or not, spend time in the company of Buster and later, Benny.

Buster showed up at 1244, and initially hauled out to join Kolohe, but didn't last long . He moved on to Sam, and that went about the same as Kolohe. Neither were in the mood to play. Buster reentered the water.

At 1251, Duke hauled out at Seal Rock Inlet, at the right end of the beach. He remained there all day, and yes, he too was visited.

At 1300 I got a call from a posse member, reporting an animal just hauling out to the east end of Sandy Beach. While on the way he called again to say that the hordes, standing at the water line, wouldn't allow him to haul out, so he had departed, swimming east. I went ahead and responded anyway, since there was zero doubt in my mind that this was Benny, and he often returns. I checked Sandy Beach, as well as Irma's and also did a check from Blowhole for an overview look. I found nothing, and returned to Makai Pier at 1405.

At 1446 Benny arrived to the right of 3BS, and immediately charged Buster who was cruisin' in the shallows. Buster took off. After that Benny graced all the other inhabitants of RI, with his presence, but none showed the least bit of interest in playing with him, so he just kept going back and forth along the beach front. His last stop was at Kolohe&Buster's location. He tried to goad Buster into a battle, but Buster is just too mellow a dude for that. He just rolled a bit further away from Duke, and let Benny do his thing. Duke still wasn't interested, and when I left the pier at 1700, all 3 were managing to coexist. They day was over for me, but I'm sure Benny wasn't done yet.

Team Billand reported that their posse member , Frank , reported Rocky at Iroquois Point at 1245.

Barbara & friend did the KP trek today, and found Kerby, RI37 , who has begun her molt, M&M, and CeeCee at the end of the world.

Finding Rocky on shore at the Lounge chairs was so funny. This seal finds the most interesting places to haul out. I heard once she was at the Duke Kahanamoku's Statue in Waikiki, Colleen's YARD (how cool is that one, your personal seal) In the parking area at a cottage, in the greenery, close ot the road at Windsock, knocks fences down on Kauai...she is one tita and I just love to find her next area. I think she has the award for personality, for being a rugged woman, a mover, she likes bunkers alot at Diamond Head and Nimitz. She also loves TREES..oh Rocky you are a smooth seal...fun to observe and find. Thanks for coming into our lives. Where you going to be today??? Oh and a lady told me her story last night, Rocky came to her mat while she was with her kids..and stayed. I seen Rocky smash a ladies nice hat...then run it over with her fat bod. He. He.
