Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:10 to 2:30 pm and there were four seals seen during that time.
Initially when Marilyn arrived there were no seals on island. She spent the first hour watching the various birds on island. There were two pairs of Masked Boobies not far from each other on the outer rim of the crater.
At 1:13 pm, an Unknown Weaner hauled out near the SRI. Older weaner size, two red tags, no ventral view and no info on sex.
At 1:52 pm, a Juvenile Male hauled out to the UW. The JM was juvenile size, older coat with tan male belly and a fair amount of green, two red tags.
At 2:05 pm, the two recent weaners hauled out down from the 3BS. They moved up the beach, played with wood and then went into snooze mode. The weaners were recent weaner size, shape and coloration, each had two red tags, and both had male bellies. Marilyn couldn't tell which weaner is which so they were labeled as RU48/RU64. It was good to see them together.
Team R&B found Miss Kala RH76 at pokai. She was alone resting between the rocks. The crabs really like running around on her, but then she would move a bit to get them off.
Over by rest camp they didn't see Lei Ola today, but they did see a seal foraging. The seal was adult size with lots of green. They believe it is R3CX Nalu. He kept foraging and didn't land while they were there in the morning.
Next they headed over to tracks and searched around. It took them abit, but they spotted R604 on shore snoozing alone. Unfortunately she was near the homeless camp. While checking on her, they heard a commotion at the camp. It was an upsetting situation, so they headed out.
Team R&B headed back to pokai after lunch. When they arrive they were happy to see there were two seals. Kala RH76 was still there but now R3CX Nalu was with her.
Kala moved up due to the high tide, and Nalu watched her with his big eyes. Then he rolled over to keep an eye on her as she settled in. Kala made it up to the bushes.
Lastly they got to watch the dolphins doing what they do best.
