September 28, 2025 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:23 to 2:00 pm and there were two seals seen during that time.
On the rock flats between SRI and RRB were the two seals:
Adult Female: adult size, older coat with light gray-green female belly and at least two tags.
Juvenile Female: juvenile size, light tan female belly and two red tags.
The abandoned gear that Marilyn spotted yesterday is still there. There were were new foot prints by the gear that weren't there yesterday.

Team R&B started at pokai where they found the lovely couple Miss Kala RH76 and Kai RM31. They
were resting peacefully together. Then some folks arrived that were a little loud so Team R&B talked with them about the resting seals. The kids were young and excited.
Then a third seal arrived. He galumphed all the way up somewhat cautiously looking for Miss Kala. It was RG32 and now he sees RM31 sleeping. RG32 charges and RM31 woke up, barking and leapt in the air. They fought, RG32 just wanted to get pass him to get to Kala.  More people arrived.
Once he passed RM31 and got to Kala, she quickly galumphed away from him. She made it to the lower rocks and stopped. RM31 laid in front of her blocking her way.
They noted it looks like RM31 is going to molt soon, so he just staying where he is. Soon all settles down.

Over at rest camp Team R&B observed RH48 Lei Ola and R3CX Nalu foraging out there together again.  The folks out in the kayaks were aware of the seals passing by them. The seals just moved away. They saw a DLNR jetski come into the bay where the seals were. They looked around and then left the area.
They saw another seal pop its head up in mid air. They couldn't tell who this seal was. They said it looked like it might have had one eye missing..... not sure. After it had popped up it was gone.

They saw a seal hauling up on shore at tracks. They watched from afar and saw it was sub-adult size,
male belly and red tags. That was all they could determine.

Lastly they checked on their Buddy the boobie. They were a little concerned today in that he went after a lure. At first they thought it was fish on a line.  Hopefully buddy will stay away from the lure.
