Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:03 to 2:28 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
The labeled as an Unknown Sub-adult from yesterday is labeled as Sub-adult Female 1 today. Like yesterday the seal was among the waterfront rocks just Makapuu of the 1BS. Marilyn has reported a concern about her well being. She was able to determine the seal is a female with a new coat, juvenile to sub-adult size and two red tags. Marilyn thinks there might be a small NB on her lower right side. This would identify her as RS34 Moana (RF34's 2023 Rabbit island pup).
In the middle of LPB above the berm was one of the recent weaners: recent weaner size, shape and coloration. Marilyn could not confirm it was a male, but believes it was. This seal is labeled as RU48.
Initially alone on the 1BS side of LPB was TempN25: sub-adult size, new coat, no tags and male belly. At 12:56 pm Sub-adult Female 2 hauled out to TempN25. SF2 was sub-adult size, newer coat, light gray female belly and two red tags. At 1:07 pm, TempN25 and SF2 entered the water and hauled out to another seal at 1:48 pm.
Down from 3BS was RU38: older weaner size, shape and coloration, tan female belly and two red tags. She was joined by TempN25 and SF2 at 1:48.
Out near SRI was Recent Weaner 2: recent weaner size, shape and coloration, light male belly and two red tags. Marilyn last saw him at 1:19 and he was gone at 1:31 pm.
Team R&B first arrived at Pokai and hung out for a while before there was any sign of a seal. They headed something and discovered two seals. First RH76 Kala came in first and right behind her was RG32. They both settled in the rocks.
They spotted Miss Lei Ola RH48 foraging alone at Rest Camp. She sped across all the way to the other side of the bay. They saw a shark for a brief moment and then it was gone. Lei Ola settled and went back to the right to forage again.
Their last find was Miss R604 alone sleeping on the shoreline. Team R&B waited and waited thinking that Kaale would show up, but he did not.
After being hit by the waves R604 galumphed all the way up on shore by the brush area. It was a good visit no one bugged her today while they were there.
