September 8, 2025 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and there were two seals seen during that time.
Initially the only seal seen was out near the RRB channel. Unknown Juvenile: juvenile size, older coat, two red tags, not sure about sex. The U/J was gone at 1:52 pm.
Then at 2:26 pm, Marilyn believes the same U/J hauled out between SRI and RRB. A short time later a larger seal hauled out a short distance away and then galumphed over to the U/J.  Marilyn thinks the newcomer was TempN25: sub-adult to adult size, new coat, light male belly and no tags.

Team R&B arrived at Pokai and saw two seals resting together at the zen spot. They immediately knew on of them was RH76 Kala. The other was a male with tags, but not in a great position. Then they saw the two lines on top of his head and knew it was R3CX Nalu.  The crabs were running all over him, but he no care.
They also saw the boobie out fishing, diving in the water then flying around and diving again. They discovered their "original" boobie was on the wall by the fishermen.

Over at rest camp they could see two seals foraging. There was a small boat anchored out there catching plenty of fish.  They were able to ID RH48 Lei Ola foraging, but she stayed far out.  The other seal was an adult with a very green coat. They hung out for an hour but couldn't get much information on him.

Heading over to tracks they found two seals on shore. RL20 Kalua and R604 were resting together.
A little bit later R604 entered the water and RL20 followed.  They
noted that RL20 has begun his molt. He came back to shore and stayed.
R604 went into the water looking for food. They saw she caught something with her mouth wide open. She was foraging for over 20 minutes then hauled out all the way to the west side.
And then there were the dolphins doing what they do best.
