10/31/2017 Monk Seal Dailies: Pohaku RO28, Kekoa RK72, Lei Ola RH48, Ka'ale RH32, PVKauai RW02, Right Spot R016, & U/U

Today's Dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Lesley, my pal Po, and Gayle who got skunked.

Team Billand was at White Plains at 6:30 am where they found RO28 Pohaku. She was about 12 feet of the cabin, and they were able to get the signs up and put up a zone before the guest were up.  When they all came out they were delighted and spent time listening to Team Billand monk seal 101.

Team Billands next stop at Maili where they found three seals. Kekoa RK72 was to the left of the other two seals, alone not bothering the other two. (Barbara commented Kekoa is a gentlemen like Kermit, these three can possibly be the next Benny, Kermit and Irma).  Lei Ola was on the rocks but Kaale came charging in towards her. He was just naughty, bugging her, nudging her belly, climbing on her back, very happy to see her. It's very cool to see these young seals together.

Lesley reported just after dawn she spied a shape moving down the beach near Camp Erdman Point. Later when she checked she found RW02 PVKaui had spent the night. The side of his body has some spots but due to the light and his position it's hard to tell how far along his molt is coming along. Lesley checked in with him again this evening and he was pretty much in the same place.

I received a couple of photos this afternoon via text message, of two adult seals on Moku Nui. The photos don't reveal much except one show a clear shot of RO16's natural bleach mark. One seal was said to have tags the other did not. Thank you to my pal Po, for always trying to get a picture. So since Gayle got skunked we know where R016 Right Spot went.
