4-6-2014 DB's Dailies:Sadie&Pup, Kainoa@RI, Kaiwi@CW, Buster,R018,M&M@WP, R5AY&RM38@MCBH, T21M@EB, Haupu@NIM

At 0720 I found Sadie&Pup (RB12)(D#3) at the far left end of the beach on Rabbit Island. They would move down and entered the water for a shallow water session, before moving back up for a feed and a snooze. They would remain all day.

Also at 0720 I found what would prove to be Kainoa (RN04), partially visible in the Morning Glory, right of 1BS. He would later move down to the water line, allowing the ID and remained all day.

At 0830 Marilyn called advising that when she arrived at China Walls, posse members Trish&Todd reported that an animal was around the corner behind the first house makua of CW. Trish had even gotten shots of the animal swimming in. Upon investigation it proved to be Kaiwi (RK96). I have only ever seen Buster at this location until today. Another chapter to this tale came at 1443 when posse member Susan Lewis called to advise that her son had seen an animal at the same location yesterday, while surfing. Of course, the office will require an U/U but it passes the "Duh? Test" for me. Chances are good it was Kaiwi yesterday also.

At 0718 Team Billand reported Buster (RV08) and R018 at #1707/08 , White Plains. R018 would depart at 1400. Buster would depart at 1656.

Also at 0718 the Billands found M&M (020) at Tower#1, WP.

At 1330 Karen Bryan called from Fort Hase Beach on MCBH, with the report of R5AY & RM38 together . Both were ID’d by tags. I’ve known both of these animals since 2003, and have data since then. This is the first reported occasion for both, at MCBH, though both are known to be in the lower east side on an irregularly, regular basis.

Dana checked in at 1437 with the report of T21M in Ewa Beach.

At 1600 Team Billand reported Haupu (RB24) between the bunkers, west o the Nimitz Jetty.

Check the blog in the morning for the Billand’s day.
