June 7, 2025 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:55 am to 1:30 pm and there were four seals seen during that time.
Between 3BS and SRI were two seals:
RU38 (PO4): weaner size, shape and coloration, two red tags and light female belly. She has obviously relocated from LPB to the 3BS area.
Adult Male 1: adult size, darker coat, male belly and two red tags. Marilyn believes this might be RM31 but couldn't confirm.
Behind the SRI inlet were two more seals:
Adult Male 2: sub-adult to adult size, light yellow green male belly and two red tags. Marilyn believes this might be R7AF, but again she couldn't confirm.
RU24 ((PO3): weaner size, shape and coloration, light male belly and two red tags.

Team R&B started this beautiful day out and about with all the crowded beaches filled with people and their dogs.
Their first seal hauled in at pokai, looked around, landed on the rocks and went to sleep. It was R3CX Nalu resting as the waves hit him. He eventually moved higher up.  After about 30 minutes he took off.

They got word from a friend that access surf was out at white plains beach and there was a seal. Of course they headed over and parking was crazy.  When they got out to the beach there were some kids at the ropes of the SRA throwing rocks at the seal.  Team R&B let them know it wasn't cool.
Then there were the other folks clapping their hand making noises to get the seals attention. Team R&B let them know it was best to let the seal rest. The seal was the lovely Lei Ola RH48 positioned under the fence line. She was getting hit by the waves and then kept moving in the direction of the kids.
Then Team R&B heard a dog barking and growling. The dog was on a leash trying to bite at the boys near by. The kid who owned the dog held the dog back but it kept pulling.
Then they owner brought the dog over to the area where Lei Ola was resting. Team R&B notified some of the guys they know, and they came over to talk with the dog owner.  It was a bit unnerving, after that Team R&B called it a day.
