June 27, 2025 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:49 too 2:50 pm and there were nine seals seen during that time.
When Marilyn first started viewing there were five seals in a close group near the LPB surge channel. These seals included both moms and pup and weaner RU24.
RH76 Kala and PO11 were closest to the surge channel. They were partly hidden be behind a large water front rock. PO11 was nursing
when Marilyn first started viewing and then was mostly hidden behind mom. PO11 turned 2 weeks old yesterday the 26th.
The next seal group was weaner RU24. He was mostly in snooze mode during Marilyn's watch. She confirmed his ID near the end of time when he went into the shore break and showed his male belly.
Next in the group was RL12 Aukai and PO12 who is 2 weeks old today. Marilyn saw the pup nurse twice and it was behind mom much of the time. Marilyn was surprised Aukai allowed RU24 so close to her pup.
At 1:40 pm, a sixth seal joined the group. Marilyn is reasonably sure it was RK37 Hali'a. RH37 had started out on the rock flats on the Makapuu side of the SRI channel. Marilyn realized that she was gone at 1:34 pm. Six minutes later she hauled out with the group on LPB.
At 2:20 pm, a seventh seal joined the group of seals in LPB. Marilyn is reasonably sure this was an Adult Male, who had previously been with an Adult Female near SRI. RH76 did not like the A/M's presence and vocalized at the him who almost immediately left. Also as a consequence of Kala's vocalization, the rest of the seals on LPB dispersed.
At 1:09 pm, the other weaner RU38 hauled out in the Middle Cliff area. She was weaner size, shape and
coloration with two tags. After the A/M left LPB, he hauled out briefly with RU38, but then left almost immediately.
When Marilyn first arrived there was an Adult Female on the reef flat on the 3BS side of SRI. A short time later Marilyn noticed a seal in the tide pool nearby who she labeled as the Adult Male, The A/M was adult size, some scars on the right rear side; unsure about tags. When the A/F moved up the beach, the A/M followed. Later he entered the SRI channel at 1:52 pm. He was next seen at LPB with the six other seals and then visited RU38. After the A/M departed, the A/F finally showed her ventral side. She also had two red tags.

Team R&B were out and about having very little luck. They spent over two hours at the outfall looking and waiting. Finally they spotted a seal, adult size with very green coat. It never came in and it soon disappeared with all of the dolphins.
They did get to enjoy the dolphins today. They were out in full force, rushing along so fast, flying out of the water. They went from Kahe to Tracks in a matter of minutes.
