June 16, 2025 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:38 to 2:10 pm and there were seven seals seen during that time.
Although Marilyn did say it was much less hectic than yesterday.
MO11(RH76) and PO11 were on LPB. The pup was behind mom for most of the time, but Mom moved up and Marilyn could see the pup. She did see the pup nurse for a short while.
On the waterline down from the 2BS and difficult to see were Aukai RL12 and PO12. Marilyn did see mom and pup swimming in a shallow pool and later RL12 moved up and there was a nursing session. Then the pup moved behind mom.
Among the waterfront rocks and tide pools between 3BS and SRI were the two weaners. Marilyn is reasonably sure she got their IDs today. Crawling up on the rocks was the male weaner RU24 (po3) weaner size, shape and coloration, light male belly and two red tags.
Weaner RU38 (po4) spent much of her time resting in the tide pools with her light female belly showing. She was also ID'd by her size, shape, and coloration. RU38 moved near RU24, who didn't respond to her.
On the rock flats Lanikai side of SRI was the molting Adult Female: adult size, light to medium gray female belly, and bout 70% molted. Marilyn did see two red tags yesterday and wonders who it could be in that it seems a little early for either RI moms to be molting.  Perhaps she is one of the Molokai moms or maybe a female who isn't giving birth this year.

Team R&B only had one find today. When they arrived at yoks they saw a man kneeling taking a photo. Sure enough when they went over there was a seal. It was RN04 Kainoa resting on shore. There weren't any signs or flags around him  The lure is still stuck to his belly on the left side.  They did call NOAA to update.
