June 19, 2025 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn.  Team R&B got skunked today.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:12 to 2:12 pm and there were seven seals on island today, along with some human trespassers.
When Marilyn arrived she immediately saw there were five watercraft on the beach between Middle Cliff and 3BS. There were five people on island and Marilyn called it into DOCARE. Thankfully an officer was able to respond and met the trespassers when they left the island.
Near the LPB surge channel entrance was weaner RU24: weaner size, shape and coloration, light male belly and two red tags.
In the middle of LPB was a seal labeled as a Sub-Adult Female: sub-adult to small adult size, sand covered coat, at least one tag and medium gray female belly.
On the 1BS side of LPB was RH76 Kala and PO11. Mom and pup seem to be doing well. PO11 again moved down to the waterline under Kala's watchful eye.
Among the rocks in the Middle Cliff area were RL12 Aukai and PO12. Aukai was aware of the trespassers, but did not charge them. PO12 was seen to nurse once and later wander a short distance from mom. Both mom and pup seem to be doing well.
About 30 feet Lanikai side of the SRI channel was molting RK37 Hali'a/Lauloa. The trespassers did all walk by her. She appears to be about 95% molted with just a small patch of fur on her rear mid-dorsal. She is adult size, light gray female belly, two red tags and NB on her left rear side.
Marilyn did not see weaner RU38 today, but she may have been hiding in a tide pool.
