Before I dive into today's updates, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you the Happiest of Holidays of your choice. I find as the holiday season is upon us and the year comes to an end I am full of emotions. ( don't worry I won't bore you with the details) BUT I do want to express my sincere appreciation to ALL those who are out there looking to make a difference, especially for our beloved monk seals. I am so GRATEFUL for all of the wonderful people I have met over the years, and to be honest some of you have become my true ohana through this journey.
Back to our regularly scheduled program :-)Posse Pal Vicki had a new "dog" following her around today, even when she went to use the bathroom. If you ask me that "dog" is a little confused.
Vicki was on the North Shore today and she came across Right Spot who is finally molting. Apparently she had been in "her spot" earlier by leaving some pieces behind. By the time Vicki arrived she had moved to another location.
She also got to catch a glimpse of an Albatross.
Team Billand started their day at the outfall. They spotted a critter swimming in but they never got a good look to ID other than it was an adult, clean coat no markers.
Next stop at a west side location there were three seals to the right. First critter RW02 PvKauai.Then there was RIP RR70, he was just to the right near the edge of the rocks, as if he just came in.
Next Kawena RH36, she was on middle rocks with the two males, snoozing. RW02 scooted up to her a bit but she gave no reaction, and he was a gentleman.
Team Billand did a quick Ka'ena West trek and the only critter they came across was L98 #206 Lina. She was alone and no one was there to bother her today.
