4/4/2018 Monk Seal Dailies:

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Darlene & Todd, and Gayle.
Gayle checked the east side and came up empty today from one end to the other, even Rabbit Island was empty.

Our Canadian posse pals Darlene & Todd finally got lucky today. They found an adult male on the Diamond Head side.  Darlene's email commented how in this situation they would call DB and he would help them ID the critter. Just another one of those times when we realize how far his knowledge reached, and as to how generous he was with his time. I know how much they miss him.
Given the location and some of the photos and process of elimation I'll make an educated guess we are looking at Buster. (Please my team experts correct me if I am wrong)

AND finally after two long days of looking for critters Team Billand found one critter today. They thought it was going to happen again today after looking all day.  At a Leeward Beach they spotted a seal hidden in the rocks sleeping. Well I can only imagine how relieved and thrilled they were to find a critter and then to ID Ka'ale RH32. He is looking great, healthy, nice weight, clean no new markers. (and no-one around to head butt)
The weather out there today was unpredictable and crazy, at one point storming, heavy rains to blues skies and sunshine.
Team Billand included some photos of the moon (from this morning) at Paradise Cove. They also met another muscovy duck who apparently was as sweet as "aflac".  And if that wasn't enough they met a little baby swan, with its momma. (watch out for those swans they can be mean and come after you and that's without a baby).

Buster
 Ka'ale

 Muscovy Duck
Mom & baby swan (pen & cygnet)
