7/19/2015 DB's Dailies: Sadie,Kainoa,Cass&U/U@RI, Kolohe@LL, Makaiwi@PC, Right Spot@Rocky Pt., RI37@Hauula, U/Us @KoOlina, Lagoons 2 & 4

At 0730 I found what would prove to be Sadie (RB12) snoozin’ up in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. She would begin to move down at 0834, just as her son, Kainoa (RN04) began his haul out 80 ft left of 1BS. They would meet at 0848, with just minimal interaction. Sadie continued down to the water line and Kainoa followed. There would be no further interaction. Sadie spent the entire day. Kainoa would depart at 1234 and I did not see him again today. This is D#1 of Sadie’s post weaning molt. I had her penciled in for today, and sure enough, just like last year she started at the 55 day mark. 1% on D#1.

On a routine pan at 0907 what remained an U/U , partially visible out on the left end flats. The animal simply never gave me anything to work with.

At 1154 when Cass (RG06) appeared and did a partial haul out at the U/U’s location I thought I’d get a look but nope.. Never happened. Cass hung out, only barely visible for a few minutes and the departed. I would later get a quick glimpse of Cass foraging in the backwash white water , but did not see her after that.

At 1401 Melanie called with the report of what would prove to be Kolohe (RW22) at Buster Flats, Lanai Lookout. Marilyn also went and confirmed the Kolohe ID.

A DanaTxt at 0852 advised that Makaiwi (R4DF) was at Paradise Cove. Another text at 1127 advised of Makaiwi’s departure. Hopefully, there will be photos.

Another DanaTxt at 1112 advised of Right Spot (RO16) at Rocky Point. Confirmation photo confirming the Right Spot ID, from Jeannie Martinson was recieved. Thank you Jeannie !

At 1155 I got word of an animal at L#2, KoOlina. No further info at this writing.

At 1320 got word of an animal at L#4, KoOlina. No further info at this writing.

A DanaTxt reported an U/U in Hauula. At 1845 Don confirmed RI37.
