At 0751 from the Makapuu Overview I found Duke (RA12)& yesterday’s U/F together at 3BS, on Rabbit Island. They were still there when I got back to Makai Pier at 0900.
The female remains an Unknown, but there is a possibility it might be Nani or perhaps even Sadie, but ??????????At 0900 I found Aukai (RL12) out on the left end rock flats of RI. She would be joined by Cass at 0924. Cass would remain there all day, moving up with the rising tide. Aukai would enter the water at 1209. I did not see her again.
At 1015, what would prove to be Kea (RN46) hauled out to join Duke & his woman. Once again the little dude didn’t have enough sense to get outta’ Duke’s way, hanging in there with the big dogs. All would enter the water and the action continued. All were generally moving west, and action calmed down . I lost them at 1140, and did not see them again today.
Gayle called at 1116 with the report of Kolohe (RW22), once again at Buster Flats, Lanai Lookout. It was a high, high tide and a south swell. He was gone on my 1500 check.Dana called at 0856 to advise that volunteer Carola had reported Right Spot (RO16) at Right Spot’s Spot, mid way to the pup site. I also heard from Melanie later on , during her Ua (RT10)&PO3 shift. She provided excellent shots.
At 1110 Team Billand found Kimo Kai (RT12) at Maili Guard Rails.
At 1234 the Billands reported RL42 at Makua Cliffs.
I must confess to Pilot Error last night. I neglected to add Diane Gabriel’s shots to the dailies, so she will make up the Y/N segment today.
