2-15-2014 DB's Dailies: RK36&Nani@RI, Haupu,M&M,RIP@WP, KC@Kualoa BP, RW02&RL42@KP, Pohaku&Kerby@Secrets, R5AY&Meli@TB, Right Spot@Kahuku Pt, Ewa Girl@WSK, Kaiwi@MI

At 0730 I found RK36 just hauling out to Left Greenery on Rabbit Island. His scar behind the RFF was clearly visible, though photos don’t capture it.

At 1117 on a pan I found what would prove to be Nani (RK60) partially visible behind the water front rocks of Seal Rock Inlet. She would finally move up at 1415 allowing me to see her new N60 bleach

At 0738 Team Billand checked in with a report of Haupu (RB24) fronting the Snack Shack, at White Plains. At 0840 she would be joined by M&M (R020), and later, at 1045 RIP (RR70) arrived to position himself between the two females (every man’s dream.... way ta’ go RIP !)

At 0939 Dana called with the report of KC (RK28) at Kualoa Beach Park. Doniel was responding.

Marilyn did the trek to the end of the world, hoping to find Ka’ena , but found a single animal, RW02. His RFF wound has completely healed.
Marilyn saw Kimo Smith just arriving to KP as she was departing. Kimo reported the arrival of RL42 to join RW02 at 1245. They were run off by one of the adoring hordes, but manage to haul out again further away.

The reason for looking for Ka’ena (RO40) was the arrival last night of shots from posse member Deanna Peyatt, showing Kerby (RW08) and Ka’ena (RO40) yesterday at KP. Ka’ena appears to have an Ulua hook in his right fore flipper. We were hoping for more info today, but alas it did not happen.

Dana called at 1254 with the report of Pohaku (RO28) & an U/U at Secrets. For a while it appeared that it might be Buster (RV08), but conversations with Dana indicated that the "V" may well have been a "W" which would make it Kerby (RW08). This animal was said to be smaller than Pohaku which tends to support the Kerby ID.

At 1419 Diane Gabriel checked in with the Turtle Bay news. She reported R5AY & Meli, plus Kaikaina (RL54) within the SPZ, and Right Spot just around Kahuku Point.

At 1617 Team Billand reported Ewa Girl (RS00) at Wind Sock. At 1819 the Billands called to report that when they wnet back to check on Ewa Girl, they found that she was gone, the rope was in the water, and all the signs were broken in half. There is a sereiously sick mind running around out there.

Late afternoon email from Angel Yanagihara provided YouTube under water video footage of an animal foraging last night, off shore of Magic Island. It was Kaiwi (RK96) !!!! This marks her furthest movement to the west.

Interesting information for monk seal monitoring. Glad that my footage of Kaiwi at Magic island provided updates to you
