Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:40 to 2:10 pm and there were six seals seen during her viewing session.
Directly down from the 3BS were two seals:
Adult Female: adult size, golden[brown female belly and two red tags.
Nearby was RL08 "BamBam Squarepants": large adult size, older medium gray coat, male belly, two red tags and several distinctive pit scars and abscess. He kept close to the AF and at one point the almost looked like they were "spooning" Marilyn thinks the AF is the seal that was labeled as an UA yesterday.
MO3 and PO3 were the nearshore waters between 3BS and SRI for about the first 40 minutes of Marilyn's viewing. At 1:22, they hauled out between 3BS and SRI, and then PO3 had a long nursing session.
Initially behind waterfront rocks on the rock flats between SRI and RRB, were RF34 Pua and PO4. With the rising tide, Pua moved up the beach and the pup followed and proceeded to burse. Pua's two red tags were visible and the scar/nb on the left rear of PO4. After the pup finished nursing mom and pup must have gone into the water, because when Marilyn went to look for them after viewing MO3 & PO3, Pua and pup were no longer on the beach. Marilyn did not see them again,
Team R&B's first find today was at Kahe. They found Lefty RG28 hauled out on the rocks alone. He was resting peacefully. They noted he has a new wound on his lower body left side. Could be a CC bite.
They decided to make the Ka'ena West trek. They only found RM31 Kai, whose applied bleach N80 was visible and very readable.
At 12:22 pm he took off due to the high tide. They thought that was it, but at the next lookout he had hauled out. Guess he beat them to the spot, not to mention this is a better spot for him to get some rest.
On their way out of Ka'ena West, they spotted another seal. It was an adult male snoozing in a pond. He wasn't there earlier, when they went by the area. He has a ding on his tags They believe this is RG32 who has been seen at Ka'ena Point.
