Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:53 to 2:15 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
Down from 3BS was MO3 and PO3. Marilyn thinks PO3 might be a male, but she wants to see over the next couple of days to day for sure. There appeared to be some lumps on the pups belly. She did not see a nursing today and MO3 is looking thin.
About 1:07 pm, RF34 Pua and PO4 hauled out about 30 fee Makapuu of MO3&PO3. So the moms and pups were not very far apart. PO4 started nursing as soon as Pua presented her ventral. Pus is also looking somewhat think. Although she didn't get much of a view of PO4's ventral, but from yesterdays observations she's fairly sure PO4 is a female.
Assuming Marilyn has the ID's of thee moms correct it appears PO3 is a male and PO4 is a female.
There was an Unknown Adult at the SRI inlet. This may the same seal Marilyn has been seeing on the LPB rock flats the past few days. The seal is adult to sub-adult size, with a tannish yellow ventral. There is at least one red tag seen during a flipper flex. One of the photos led Marilyn to believe this could be a female but she's not sure.
Team R&B had another slow seal day. They were at Pokai looking out hoping for a sighting.
Finally they spotted a seal going for broke in full cruiser mode. It came around the rocks looking around. They were able to ID R3CX Nalu. He went by the zen area looking around (probably for Kala) and then he left. Team R&B waited around hoping he would come back but he never did, nor did any other seals.
