May 18, 2025 Sunday's Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&BπŸ’•

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from !:04 to 3:07 pm and there were  five seals seen during that time.
MO3 and her pup PO3 hauled out about 50 feet Makapuu of 3BS soon after Marilyn started viewing PO3 started nursing. PO3 appears to have some sort of minor ding on his left rear side. After the nursing they went into snooze mode.
An Unknown Adult showed up offshore of MO3 & PO3 about 2:20 pm. The UA kept looking at the mom and pup and moved closer to them, but neither reacted to the UA's presence, and the UA left soon after. Marilyn thinks this is the
same seal hauled out on the reef flats Lanikai of LPB at 2:47 pm. The UA was adult size, with mottled gray belly, unsure about tags. This is most likely a male, but Marilyn could not confirm.
At about 1:20 pm, RF34 Pua and her pup PO4 hauled out on the 3BS side of Middle Cliff. PO4 nursed for a time and then Pua and pup moved up on the waterfront rocks. PO4 entered the water under Mom's watchful eye just as Marilyn was closing up.

Team R&B were out and about wondering where all the seals are?  They did find the dolphins doing what they do best playing!  They did see one that they call Lumpfin.

On their last stretch of searching they finally saw something promising. There was a sign, orange flags and two seals.
They ID'd RP28 Wakea who looked really tiny next to RN04 Kainoa   The lifeguards has set up a safe area for them to rest.  Then Team R&B met a really nice woman visiting from California who is part of the Marine Mammal Center. Needless to say they were able to talk a lot about the seals and she was excited to meet Wakea and Kainoa.
