Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:30 to 2:10 pm and there were seven seals seen during that time.
Three seals were on the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB, but she couldn't get a decent photo to make the IDs. A short time later two seals hauled out to LPB.
RL08 "BamBam Squarepants" was ID'd by his multiple pit scar and his right rear side abscess. Marilyn did eventually see his male belly but unsure about tags.
Unknown Adult: adult size, light yellow ventral with lots of sand, probably female, unsure about tags.
About 12:50 pm a third seal hauled out behind the other two seals and partly hidden behind a berm. This seal is labeled Unknown Sub-adult: Sub-adult to adult size, light ventral, unsure about sex. Later this seal moved back toward the rock flats.
Between 3BS and SRI was MO3 and her male pup PO3. They mostly snoozed. Marilyn got several good views of his male belly.
On the rock flats on the RRB side of SRI was RF34 Pua and her female pup PO4. There was a nursing and snooze. Marilyn thinks PO4 has a small scar or nb on its left rear side.
Team R&B first find was RG28 Lefty. He was alone at the seal inlet. He seemed to know there was another seal nearby. Team R&B looked carefully and sure enough there was a seal foraging.
They think the foraging seal might be Wakea RP28, with a look at his face, a ding on his back. He was doing 6 minute dives off the rocks and although they were hopeful he never landed.
Over at the cliffs they were thrilled to finally see RL42 Leia. She was in the company of a veryromantic RN04 Kainoa who stuck by her side.
In the end RL42 wanted to leave, but Kainoa moved to seal inlet and blocked her exit. (brat!)
They began to vocalize and RL42 gave him a head butt. He didn't care and tried to get closer.
It looked like they were going to leave, just as Team R&B were leaving.
Lastly they spotted two more seals on the rocks in a different location at cliffs. One of them was R617 who is always a challenge to ID.
The other seal was a surprise, it was Kai RM31. They hadn't seen him for a while so it was nice to have him back.
The best part was Mark and Micah from NOAA came out to bleach the seals. We always love when this happens! R617 was given N70 and RM31 was given N80.
