Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:58 am to 1:24 pm and only the mom and pup pairs were seen today.
Near the water in the LPB surge channel were MO3 and PO3. The pup nursed initially and then went into snooze mode. Not long before Marilyn stopped viewing they moved into the water in the surge channel.
On the water front rocks between 3BS and SRI were RF34 Pua and her pup PO4. They were in snooze mode during Marilyn's viewing session. Both mom and pup seem fine.
Team R&B's day started off slow. Then when they arrived at Kahe they spotted a seal swimming by. The seal hauled out on the rocks and they were able to ID RL20 Kalua. He is looking good, no line, no hooks and very chubby.
Still on site looking out and watching the dolphins they happen to notice another seal. He must have hauled out when they weren't looking, little sneaky bugga. They ID'd RP30 Puka making himself comfortable on the rocks.
At one point during the day they spotted a seal at tracks. The seal was on shore resting. They didn't know who the seal was until they got to look at the photos. They ID'd the seal as R604, and she looks just fine.
On their last stop there was a seal on shore at yoks. It was RG28 Lefty covered in sand and snoozing away.
Team R&B always find something beautiful to look at while out checking on the seals. Today was an interesting insect on a flower. Looks a little like a butterfly.
