01/17/2020 Friday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Lesley, Team Billand and Melody.

Just before 11 am Team Billand got to west side location and found RL20 Kalua hauled out on lower rocks. He later moved to the water hole that usually has a lot of competition, but today he had it all to himself.

Nalu R3CX was with Kekoa RK72 snoozing peacefully. They were sleeping the entire time no interaction just sleep.

This afternoon Team Billand decided to do the Ka'ena West Trek and on their way out they saw a fat seal sleeping on shore. There were 3 signs and some people taking photos up close. By the time they walked over the people had left. RL42 Leia was resting and looking quite large.
On their way out from Ka'ena West trek they checked and L42 was still there. But this time there was someone in the zone, taking pictures. Such a shame people are disrespectful.

Once out to Ka'ena trek they found L98 Lina was very hidden, but thankfully her N34 bleach was visible.
Then they spotted RW02 PvKauai was more inland sleeping. His tags were visible and was still there when they headed out.

Melody got to enjoy Rocky RH58 company for a second time this week. Just after lunch Melody for a text "she's back" security went down to set up SRA. When Melody got there to make a positive ID from her NB on her LFF.
With all the recent weather and surf the beach has some erosion and Rocky wasn't able to get up to her morning glory. One of the residents Ken told Melody that Rocky attempted to get up the "hill" several times but had to settle for lower beach for a snooze. Melody couldn't stay long so Diana HMSPO volunteer arrived to help out.
Melody was able to return later in the aftenoon and Rocky was still snoozing. As the sun started to set creating a beautiful sunset Rocky decided to go back in the water. G'nite Rocky!

OOPS, forgot to post two more animals found.

It be Kaale RH32 with RN14 Kalani.

Both resting together, in HARMONY for a change, on the rocks.

We went back to recheck if any more seals showed up with N14 and there was Kaale, FA T BOY snoozing the day away.
