01/06/2020 Monday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Melody.

Melody got a text from Team Billand around 3:30 this afternoon that a seal had just hauled out at plains. Melody headed over and when she arrived the lifeguards had already set up a SRA. the seal was still a little wet and close to the water.  Melody spotted a scar by its eye and the slightly cloudy eye, which confirmed Buster. Melody called the hotline as there were people out and about. Melody was able to answer questions about Buster and monk seal questions.  Melody decided to stay until sunset since the life guards were gone for the day and there were still quite a few people around.

Team Billand arrived at westside location at 8:15 am. When they arrived there was Kekoa Alii RK72 on the rocks to the right sleeping. He remained there all day.
Next came Kala RH76 and Ka'ale RH32 together on the rocks before the others arrived.

Team Billand spotted R3CX with RG28 were frolicking in the water for a while then hauled in together. They were  vocalizing with each other.
RG28 Lefty landed on the right front water rocks and moved around a lot and fought with the other boys.
RN14 Kalani hauled in mid rocks, heard the commotion to the right, looked and charged over the rocks and in the pond to check out Kala RH76 and others.  After a brief moment of words, he dived back in the water front rock area, came right back up on rocks.
RL20 was in the water having interactions with other seals, then
hauled in to lower rocks for the entire day. He's hanging out with the elders being a little cutey!
And all the fun included RW02 Pv Kauai, he came slithering in while they were watching the other critters.  He ended up on lower rocks with the little kid RL20 for the rest of the day.

Team Billand did the Ka'ena West Trek and on their way out they got a call about a seal at plains when they let Melody know and fortunately she was able to check it out (as mentioned above).
On their Ka'ena West Trek they came aross R198 Lina at 2:45. She was nestled in the rocks looking very peaceful and her 206 tag was visible.
Their next sighting was RL42 Leia alone and resting.
