October 4, 2019 Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand.

Team Billand first stop was at 6 am to check the beach by the construction site and they found RH92 Nalani on shore. There were all kinds of footprints around her and looked like something was dragged close to her too.  It is worrisome to see this kind of pattern, but she seems fine in spite of it.
Team Billand called the hotline.  They rechecked in the afternoon and she was gone from the site.

At 6:30 Team Billand arrived at KoOline and found Miss Pohaku RO28 close to the naupaka again snoozing. There were signs up already.
Her molt is now opening up more on her chest and they could see many spots on her side opening up too.
Team Billand called security, and called the hotline. They stayed on site until 9:30. Just as they were leaving a child ran up to Pohaku, so they called out to him. The father was right there watching, he thought it was a rock.  Oh well what can you say.

Interesting note, on their way out they met a security guard who had heard there was a seal named Pohaku. Team Billand confirmed that and told him that was Pohaku there on the beach.  The guard said, I am Pohaku, that is may name too. It means "God of Rock".  Well we know Miss Pohaku has someone watching of her!

During the afternoon Team Billand came across da Benny at a westside location. He was trying to get up on lower rocks, looking very green and robust.
Benny was not alone there were two seals to his right.
They were able to ID RH36 Kawena next to RG28 Lefty, both sleeping peacefully.
