12/15/2016 DB's Dailies: Kolohe@Rabbit Island, Kaiwi@China Walls, Benny@Lahi Lahi, Kerby@20Min, Pohaku@Campbell Industrial Park,

At 0814 I found Kolohe (RW22) below 1BS on Rabbit Island. He would be the sole RI resident once again today.

At 1130 I found Kaiwi (RK96) snoozin’ at China Walls.

Team Billand checked in at 0724 with the report of a molting Benny (RE74), once again at Lahi Lahi.

At 0942 Barbara reported Kerby (RW08), once again at the 20Min mark on the west side KP trail.

At 1304 Team Billand found Pohaku(R028) snoozin’ on the beach at Campbell Industrial Park.

The detail in the Rabbit Island photos is astonishing. I don't recall ever being able to read the signs or see the faces of seals like that before. Very nice.

Nikon has everything to do with it, plus a little cooperation from Ma' Nature, providing just the right sun and enough wind to blow the crude outta' the air. Shooting pictures at 8/10ths of a mile is definitely challenging. Of course, the real secret is what every highly paid photographer knows. If you shoot a million photos, a couple are bound to come out. DB
