2/7/2016 DBs Dailies: U/M@Rabbit Island, Right Spot@Sandy Beach, Pohaku@Nanakuli, RIP&Kekoa@Maili Point, Rocky@Kaimana Beach

Heat distortion at the interface of the cold North winds and the warmer water, made for impossible ID conditions at Rabbit Island. I found an animal behind Seal Rock Inlet, and I could see that it was a male, with a probable new coat, but it was not possible to see markers.

At 1150 Ocean Safety called with the report of an animal at the east end of Sandy Beach. When I arrived at 1203 I found Right Spot (R016) and cordoned her off. She remains at dark.

At 0924 Ocean Safety called with the report of an animal at Zablan Beach, Nanakuli. The Billands responded and confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID at 0934. Melina reported her departure at 1642.

At 1125 they called with the report of Kekoa (RK72) at Maili Point.

At 1147 they had another Maili Point report. This time it was RIP (RR70) foraging off shore. Kekoa would later return to the water to forage with RIP.

A 1649 Dana text advised of Rocky (RH58) at Kaimana today . I have no other info.
