2/23/2015 DB's Dailies:

Once again I have an Unknown Fest to report from the Rabbit Island observations. At 0922 I found an U/F snoozin’ at the log, 40 ft left of 1BS. She would later move down to the water line, and snoozed away the rest of the day, being barely visible behind the water front rocks. In all probability it was Aukai or Kaiwi, but ?????

At 0938 I spied a likely looking rock, amongst the other likely looking rocks at Rocky Right Beach on RI. Over the next few hours the rock would move, and at 1012 the rock scratched it’s face ! Yep........ critter !! That was the extent of it. The animal would move out of my line of sight at 1138, and on a check from the Makapuu Overview at 1417 I could see nothing there, though the heat distortion was so bad I may well have missed something. I’ve begun to beg Tracy for “Bleach Boy” help.

At 0739 Team Billand reported Nihoa (R912) foraging at the Maipalaoa Canal again. At 0814 they would report the arrival of Haupu (RB24) to the same location, as has been the case for some days now.

At 0945 the called with the report of RIP (RR70) at Maili Pt.

A DigaText at 1124 brought the welcome news of La’akea (RK82) at the Kahuku Golf Course. She noted loose dogs in the area. Thank you Diga !!!

Posse member Rikki Goble did the Ka’ena Pt trek today and found Luana (RN58), and RW02 at The End of the World.

In the Yesterday’s News department, Gary Langley sent photos of Pohaku’s boy, RF28 on Kauai. As the lone survivor of the Oahu girls pupping there last year, it is particularly good to see that he is doing well. Thanks Gary !!
