2/18/2015 DB's Dailies: Kainoa @ RI, Nihoa @ Maipalaoa Canal, Haupu @ PC, RIP & Kolohe @ Maili Pt

The day began 0551 with a Billand email, forwarding a Benny map from 1250 this morning. Thank you Charles. At that time he was shown off shore of the entrance to Hanauma Bay. Thus began my Benny Quest for today. Despite much traveling I end the day with no Benny to show for it. Only Benny Knows !

At 1013 I found Kainoa (RN04) snoozin’ on the water front rocks at mid Middle Cliff, on Rabbit Island. He would enter the water at 1203, and haul out again, 30 ft left of 1BS at 1312.

Team Billand checked in with the report of Nihoa (R912) at the Maipalaoa Canal, Maili, at 0715, foraging. She would haul out to the Uleawa’s side of the canal at 0945.

At 0956 the Billands advised that a call from a Grace Ann, reported Haupu (RB24) at Paradise Cove. Thanks to to Diane T. for responding and enduring all the hassle. She reported Haupu’s departure at 1450.

At 1013 Team Billand reported RIP (RR70) & Kolohe (RW22) at Maili Point.

A late afternoon email from Tracy forwarded Michelle’s assessment of Benny yesterday morning at Kaimana Beach. She noted no distress and thought Benny appeared fine. His dive and foraging behavior seem to support that according to Michelle. That is grrrreat !!!

Team Billand called to advise that their computer was winning the battle this evening. Check the blog in the morning , for their day.

Kainoa on Rabbit Island.... seems like he had the place to himself

Benny still hanging on Oahu and based on Doc Michele's observations he's doing good.
