4/16/2010 DB Dailies

Howling North winds, heavy heat wave distortion, and off and on rain made for an unfun day of Rabbit Island observations. At 0625 I found what would ultimately prove to be M38 and Kolohe up in the Morning Glory, 30 ft left of 1BS. Because of the cold , wet day, none of the animals were motivated to move, making for difficulty in finally getting ID's (Kolohe at 1101, and M38 at 1311).
When I got back to Makai Pier at 0855 I found what would turn out to be Sadie at the right end of the beach. Because she didn't move all day it took until 1502 to finally get her ID.

At 1411, Buster hauled out at 1BS to join M38 and Kolohe. He gave Kolohe a few nuisance nuzzles. M38 couldn't have cared less.

Team Billand found T15M (Sharkbite) at Pray For Sex, which is the east end of Makua Beach, at 0930.

Finding Sharkbite, seeing him lay there on the sand, basking, alone, made me see things. THis seal, had a horrific, traumatic experience happen to him. He didnt give up, he fought for his life back. He had a will, to keep going, no matter how hard, no matter if he is damaged for life, he KEPT GOING. He is my hero. We all have to keep going, not matter what. THanks for the lesson Sharkbite, you are awesome. Too bad he cant talk, I can imagine what he could tell all of us, Yep, he is definetly, MY HERO!!! It was an honor to be with him for just a short time and he'd be our only find.
