They started their day at Kahe where they spotted a seal on the rocks. The seal had cc scars at first they thought it might be G28, but looking closely they were able to ID RL08. His white nail on his right flipper was visible.
While in the area they were watching the seals foraging at the outfall. They noticed a second seal was now with RL08. They never saw the seal haul in. They were able to ID RM31 Kai, who was resting with RL08.
They studied the animals foraging at the outfall. They believe one of them with two tags and darker coat is RL20 Kalua. Its extremely difficult to get IDs while their moving in the water, are there tags? scars? Usually they can determine if the seal is an adult but not much else. There was an unknown adult with red tags.
Team R&B took a break from the outfall and headed over to nimitz. They found R407 alone on the reef. He snoozed while they were there, so they were grateful to have enough information to make an ID.
They went back to Kahe to check the area and only found RM31 Kai snoozing. There were still two unknowns foraging at the bait ball.
Along with the seals foraging, they saw a couple of whales out on the horizon.
