When they arrived at Nimitz today they saw a seal on the reef. They were able to ID R407 Kawika alone and resting peacefully.
A little later they spotted another seal, who eventually hauled up with R407. They were happy to see RN14 Kalani back. He kept going in a nearby cave and then finally decided to haul out.
They noted the beaches were crowded today. At electric beach a male seal hauled up despite all the beachgoers. They could not make an ID other than it was an adult male with no tags seen. They called it into the hotline.
Heading over to the bay they spotted a male seal with no tags resting on the rocks in the zen area. After taking some time studying the seal they determined this male was R617.
Their last seal had them scratching their heads. Barb commented that the seal love to confuse them hiding in the rocks making it difficult to get any clues. They knew it was a female who they studied for a long time. Thankfully lady ocean helped out and knocked the seal over for them to see enough to ID RL42 Leina. Her cc scar on the side of her belly was visible.
Along with the seals Team R&B were entertained by the whales and dolphins.
