October 19, 2023 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from1:00 to 2:55 and there were a total of seven seals during that time.
Initially there were six when she began her viewing session but another hauled out later.
In the area of the 1BS were four seals:
Adult Male 1 : large adult male, old coat with golden brown belly and two red tags. This is the same male that has been reported recently.
RK24 Bruno/Wawamalu: smaller adult size, new coat, light gray male belly, two red tags and a scar on right reat side.
Adult Male 2 : adult size, old coat, dark gray-brown male belly, not sure about tags.
Juvenile Female: juvenile size, old coat, tannish female belly and two red tags. She has a fair amount of green around and below her eyes.
Between 3BS and SRI was a small Subadult Male: small subadult size, old coat with lots of green, brown male belly and two red tags.
Closer to SRI was a Subadult Female: subadult to small adult size, newer coat, light gray female belly and two red tags.
About 1:25 pm an Adult Female hauled out near the seals at the 1BS. The three males all moved down to the water and there was a fair amount of commotion. The AF moved in the Lanikai direction to avoid attention and all the seals moved up the beach. Later RK24 galumphed over to the female and they went into snooze mode.
The Adult Female was adult size, newer coat, light gray female belly and two red tags.

Team R&B were out at the outfall and watched two seals forage in the area. They did their best to get
IDs but it was just too difficult, even watching them for close to two hours. One seal was green with red tags. The other was adult size and clean coat with red tags.

At another west side location they found a very fat seal where 604 had been yesterday. But today there was RG28 Lefty and he is looking huge. They noted his new CC wound is healing just fine. They saw his one tag with a G.
RW02 PvKauai was coming in from the Waianae end. He came in looking for a place to park himself. He landed on lower rocks, and seemed to be aware of RG28 who was just 15 ftt to the right.
