October 15, 2023 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:37 to 2:42 and there were five seals seen during that time.
In the middle of LPB was a fully molted RK24 and an Adult Male: large adult size, old coat, dark brown male belly and two red tags.
Near 1BS was a Juvenile female: larger juvenile size, old coat green around and under the eyes, tan female belly and two red tags.
Between 3BS and SRI was a Subadult Male: subadult size. old coat with a fair amount of green, brownish-yellow male belly and two red tags.
At 2:25 Marilyn spotted a Female Weaner: in the RRB channel. She was not there during repeated
checks earlier. She never changed position but Marilyn suspects she is the FW that was at RRB yesterday.

Team R&B spent the early morning watching the dolphins. There were a couple of times they weren't sure if there were sharks or just dolphins.
At the outfall they spotted a super fast seal stealing fish. Well it turned out to be RL20 Kalua. The bugga is fast. ( I swear he must be related to Kaale RH32).
There were two more seals off the outfall but they were unable to get an ID on either of them. One was an adult with a clean coat, the other had a lot of green and they didn't stay around for long.

At another west side location they didn't see any seals at first. Then they noticed a seal foraging off the rocks. Thankfully it landed later on. There was the beautiful and large R604. They noted a very small hook on her bottom lip. Nothing serious or to be worried about.

On their second check to the bay, they were thrilled to find a seal. The waves were big and surf was rough. There was Kala RH72 snoozing at her rock garden. There were lots of folks around, looking at the surf and of course Miss Kala.
