09/21/2020 Monday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Team T&D.

Team T&D hiked Ka'ena today and their first find was Kai PO4. This is the first time they have seen him in several months ( he has been seen by other posse pals).

Next on the small beach in Ka'ena pool was RW02 PVKauai. His fur by his neck looked ruffled but its unclear if he started his molt.

Lastly they found Kami RL74 on back beach. She is looking quite beautiful in her new coat.

Team Billand first spotted Ka'ale on shore at Tracks alone enjoying the peace and quiet. There were a couple of good Samaritans out there today making sure he was undisturbed. The only thing bugging him was the little crab seen taking his molting fur away, Ka'ale kept flapping his flippers.

While checking other sites they noticed a seal with a clean coat passing by heading to Tracks. Sure enough the seal hauls out with Ka'ale. Team Billand headed back as quickly as they could but Ka'ale had left heading for another beach. They were able to ID Aukai RL12.

Sure enough Ka'ale RH32 hauled out at another nearby beach, only to leave later on and head back to tracks.

While going back and forth keeping tabs on Ka'ale they stopped and found RL70 Leina on a small sand path wiggling about. Leina is at leadt 50% molted, her belly is done and her face is clean.

RL20 Kalua was on mid high rocks sleeping and well hidden. His tag was briefly visible.

At first they did not see him but Leina RL70 kept looking in one direction. Finally they spotted another seal Kekoa Alii RK72 slithering around in the shallows. As the tide went down, he remained on lower rocks and kept to himself.
