11/3/2017 Monk Seal Dailies: Ka'ale, Kekoa, Benny, Lei Ola, Ka'ena, RIP, 2 Critters on Moku Nui

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Team T&D, Lesley and my posse pal Po.

Team T&D (Tammy and hubby Dave) did the Ka'ena Point Trek today. Their only find was Ka'ena (RO40) in his point. He kind of owns the place, don't ya think?

Team Billand captured the moon setting in Maili, a sunrise at Plains and RH32 Ka'ale at Kahe. He was alone up on the rocks, awake as if he just came in, he's a good looking little one growing up fast.

At Maili they found Kekoa Alii RK72 he was alone mid rocks, he looks healthy, robust. They were unable to determine if he has started to molt.  They also found Benny RE74 at Maili on the opposite side of the lower rocks. He looks green, healthy, good girth, no new markers tags showing.

Team Billand's next find RH48 Lei Ola at Makua Cliffs, she was all by herself tag showing. She was looking very comfy without any struggle and still hooked. Barb did a walk to 40 minute beach they rechecked on Lei Ola and she was still there.  In addition Team Billand sent a photo of calve twins at the ranch. SWEET !

Lesley went down to Camp Erdman Point to check on RW02 RV02 and instead she found a surprise as it was RR70 RIP hanging out there. He is looking a little skinny and Lesley sent photos into Tracy and Michelle . RIP might be recovering from his molt, but they still want to keep their eye on him. Lesley noted there was definitely another seal there, as there were many trails, wallows all around, along with some poo and spew.

Lastly my pal Po sent a couple of photos from Moku Nui today. There was an adult and a weaner size seal. No ID on either, it appears there were folks out on the Island as the seals were roped off.
