11/16/2017 Monk Seal Dailies: Benny RE74, Lei Ola RH48, Ka'ale RH32, RN14. RIP RR70, Ka'ena RO40, RVKauai RW02, Right Spot R016, & 3 Rabbit Island Critters

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Team Tamm&Dave, and posse pal Gayle.

At 6:15am Team Billand found Benny RE74 at Secrets. Day three he was by the Naupaka Bush, Team Billand set up a zone. They called the hotline and a volunteer responded at 7:00 am and they left to cover the other beaches..  Team Billand received a call at 2:20 there was a seal fronting Aunties Place at Lanikohonua. By the time they arrived volunteer Karen was there and put out signs. People had gotten to close to Benny and Auntie was upset. Not sure why Benny had relocated and Team Billand was unable to determine if he started his molt.

Lei Ola still at Maili in her little hidden spot mid rocks. Good that she is hidden but makes it hard to get a good picture of her. She still has her hook. On their last check at 2pm she was still alone same spot and could not see any sign of her molt.

Ka'ale and RN14 (da boyz) both arrived around 9am vocalizing and fighting. Barbara was a little concerned they might bother Lei Ola, but she was still and they were not aware of her.
Da boyz spent most of the time bickering at each other, Ka'ale has this habit of bumping RN14 with his snout over and over until he pisses RN14 off. (hmmm sounds like Holokai and Kahulu, Ka'ale lucky he doesn't have a bloody nose).  They eventually hayled up on the lower rocks and after all the commotion both went to sleep.  Both seals were gone when Team Billand checked back at 2:00.

Team Billands last stop at Makua Cliffs where they found RR70 RIP. He was alone on the rocks just chilling.Team Billand initially thought they were looking at RL42 until they got a good look at his tag and his male belly.

Team Tammy and Dave trekked out to Ka'ena Point and found Ka'ena at hidden beach. He's was alone, and doesn't appear to have started his molt.  Their next find was RW02 PVKauai out at the point. Tammy got a nice photo of a rainbow and PVKauai.

Gayle found Right Spot again at Sandy Beach. Right Spot spent the day and Gayle left her there still snoozing at 18:30. As a side note, she probably spent a lot of energy last night getting rid of Buster. Gayle also spotted three critters on Rabbit Island this morning.
